༄༅། །ཕུན་ཚོགས་དགེ་ལེགས་བྱེ་བས་བསྐྲུན་པའི་སྐུ། །
Your body is created from a billion perfect factors of goodness;
1. Thân sinh ra từ / muôn vạn thiện lành;
མཐའ་ཡས་འགྲོ་བའི་རེ་བ་བསྐོང་བའི་གསུང༌། །
Your speech satisfies the yearnings of countless sentient beings;
Lời nói toàn thành / nguyện ước chúng sinh;
མ་ལུས་ཤེས་བྱ་ཇི་བཞིན་གཟིགས་པའི་ཐུགས། །
Your mind perceives all objects of knowledge exactly as they are –
Ý thấy khắp cả / đúng như sự thật:
ཤཱཀྱའི་གཙོ་བོ་དེ་ལ་མགོས་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །
I bow my head to you O chief of the Shakya clan.
Trước bậc đứng đầu / dòng họ Thích ca / con xin đảnh lễ.ཟླ་མེད་སྟོན་པ་དེ་ཡི་སྲས་ཀྱི་མཆོག །
You’re the most excellent sons of such peerless teacher;
2. Là trưởng tử của / bậc Thầy vô song,
རྒྱལ་བའི་མཛད་པ་ཀུན་གྱི་ཁུར་བསྣམས་ནས། །
You carry the burden of the enlightened activities of all conquerors,
Đảm đương việc làm / của khắp chư Phật,
གྲངས་མེད་ཞིང་དུ་སྤྲུལ་པས་རྣམ་རོལ་བ། །
And in countless realms you engage in ecstatic display of emanations –
Du hí thị hiện / hằng sa cõi giới:
མི་ཕམ་འཇམ་པའི་དབྱངས་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །
I pay homage to you O Maitreya and Manjushri.
Di Lạc, Văn Thù / con xin kính lễ.ཤིན་ཏུ་དཔག་པར་དཀའ་བ་རྒྱལ་བའི་ཡུམ། །
So difficult to fathom is the mother of all conquerors,
3. Dù nghĩa Phật mẫu / thậm thâm khó lường,
ཇི་བཞིན་དགོངས་པ་འགྲེལ་མཛད་འཛམ་གླིང་རྒྱན། །
You who unravel its contents as it is are the jewels of the world;
Vẫn giảng đúng như / ý thật của Phật:
ཀླུ་སྒྲུབ་ཐོགས་མེད་ཅེས་ནི་ས་གསུམ་ན། །
You’re hailed with great fame in all three spheres of the world –
Long thọ, Vô trước, / ba cõi danh lừng,
ཡོངས་སུ་གྲགས་པའི་ཞབས་ལ་བདག་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །
I pay homage to you O Nagarjuna and Asanga.
Đê đầu dưới chân / con xin kính lễ.ཤིང་རྟ་ཆེན་པོ་གཉིས་ལས་ལེགས་བརྒྱུད་པའི། །
Stemming from these two great charioteers with excellence
4. Hai đại tổ sư / khéo truyền hai đường
ཟབ་མོའི་ལྟ་བ་རྒྱ་ཆེན་སྤྱོད་བའི་ལམ། །
Are the two paths of the profound view and the vast conduct;
Tri kiến thâm sâu, thiện hạnh quảng đại,
མ་ནོར་ཡོངས་སུ་རྫོགས་པའི་གནད་བསྡུས་པའི། །
You’re the custodian of the treasury of instructions encompassing all essential points
Kho tàng khai thị không mê lầm này,
གདམས་པའི་མཛོད་འཛིན་མར་མེ་མཛད་ལ་འདུད། །
Of these paths without error, I pay homage to you O Dipamkara.
Người tiếp giữ trọn / mọi điểm tinh yếu: / Đức Atisa (Dipamkara), con xin kính lễ.རབ་འབྱམས་གསུང་རབ་ཀུན་ལ་ལྟ་བའི་མིག །
You are the eyes to see all the myriad collections of scriptures;
5. Ân sư là mắt / cho chúng con nhìn / muôn trùng kinh điển;
སྐལ་བཟང་ཐར་བར་བགྲོད་པའི་འཇུག་ངོགས་མཆོག །
To the fortunate ones traveling to freedom you illuminate the excellent path,
Là lòng sông cạn / đưa kẻ thiện duyên / sang bờ giải thoát;
བརྩེ་བས་སྤྱོད་པའི་ཐབས་མཁས་མཛད་པ་ཡིས། །
You do this through skillful deeds stirred forth by compassion.
Từ bi vận dụng / mọi thiện phương tiện, / soi tỏ lối đường:
གསལ་མཛད་བཤེས་གཉེན་རྣམས་ལ་གུས་ཕྱག་འཚལ།
I pay respectful homage to you O all my spiritual mentors.
Kính khắp Ân sư / con xin đảnh lễ.༈ །འཛམ་གླིང་མཁས་པ་ཡོངས་ཀྱི་གཙུག་གི་རྒྱན། །
You’re the crowning jewels among all the learned ones of this world;
6. Là ngọc trang nghiêm / trên đỉnh bậc trí / cõi Diêm phù đề;
སྙན་པའི་བ་དན་འགྲོ་ལ་ལྷང་ངེ་བ། །
Your banners of fame flutter vibrantly amongst the sentient beings;
Tràng phang danh xưng / lẫy lừng khắp chúng;
ཀླུ་སྒྲུབ་ཐོགས་མེད་གཉིས་ལས་རིམ་བཞིན་དུ། །
O Nagarjuna and Asanga from you flow in an excellent steady stream
Pháp chân truyền từ / Long thọ, Vô trước:
ལེགས་བརྒྱུད་བྱང་ཆུབ་ལམ་གྱི་རིམ་པ་ནི། །
This [instruction on the] stages of the path to enlightenment.
Là Trình Tự Đường / Dẫn Đến Giác Ngộ.སྐྱེ་རྒུའི་འདོད་དོན་མ་ལུས་སྐོང་བས་ན། །
Since it fulfills all the wishes of beings without exception,
7. Vì bởi pháp này / làm tròn nguyện ước / chín loại chúng sinh
གདམས་པ་རིན་ཆེན་དབང་གི་རྒྱལ་བོ་སྟེ། །
It is the king of kings among all quintessential instructions;
Nên đây chính là / vua của vua pháp,
གཞུང་བཟང་སྟོང་གི་ཆུ་བོ་འདུས་པའི་ཕྱིར། །
Since it gathers into it thousands of excellent rivers of treatises,
Là lòng biển rộng / rạng ngời khéo giảng,
དཔལ་ལྡན་ལེགས་པར་བཤད་པའི་རྒྱ་མཚོའང་ཡིན། །
It’s as well the ocean of most glorious well-uttered insights.
Nơi ngàn dòng suối / luận văn đổ về.བསྟན་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་འགལ་མེད་རྟོགས་པ་དང༌། །
It helps to recognize all teachings to be free of contradictions;
Giúp người tu hiểu / trăm vạn pháp môn / vốn không mâu thuẫn;
གསུང་རབ་མ་ལུས་གདམས་པར་འཆར་བ་དང༌། །
It helps the dawning of all scriptures as pith instructions;
Giúp trọn pháp Phật / tỏa rạng thành lời / trực chỉ khai thị / trong trí người tu;
རྒྱལ་བའི་དགོངས་པ་བདེ་བླག་རྙེད་པ་དང༌། །
It helps to find easily the enlightened intention of the conquerors;
Giúp cho dễ dàng / hiểu được ý Phật;
ཉེས་སྤྱོད་ཆེན་པོའི་གཡང་ས་ལས་ཀྱང་བསྲུང༌། །
It helps also to guard against the abyss of grave negative deeds.
Giúp giữ người tu / thoát khỏi hố thẳm / của đại ác hạnh.དེ་ཕྱིར་རྒྱ་བོད་མཁས་པའི་སྐྱེ་བོ་ནི། །
Therefore this most excellent instruction that is sought after
Vì vậy nhiều bậc / thiện duyên Ấn-Tạng
སྐལ་ལྡན་དུ་མས་བསྟེན་པའི་གདམས་པ་མཆོག །
By numerous fortunate ones like the learned ones of India and Tibet,
Dốc tâm nương vào / diệu pháp này đây.
སྐྱེས་བུ་གསུམ་གྱི་ལམ་གྱི་རིམ་པ་ཡིས། །
This [instruction of the] stages of the path of persons of three capacities,
Trình tự đường tu / ba căn cơ này,
ཡིད་རབ་མི་ དཔྱད་ལྡན་སུ་ཞིག་ཡོད།
What intelligent person is there whose mind is not captured by it?
Kẻ trí không ai / không bị cuốn hút.༈ །གསུང་རབ་ཀུན་གྱི་སྙིང་པོ་བསྡུ་བསྡུ་བ། །
This concise instruction distilling the essence of all scriptures,
8. Pháp này thu nhiếp / trọn lời Phật dạy,
ཚུལ་འདི་ཐུན་རེ་སྟོན་དང་ཉན་པས་ཀྱང༌། །
Even through reciting it or listening to it only once,
Nên giảng hay nghe / dù chỉ một lần,
དམ་ཆོས་འཆད་དང་ཐོས་པའི་ཕན་ཡོན་ཚོགས། །
The benefits of teaching the dharma, listening to it, and so on,
Đều như giảng, nghe / toàn bộ diệu Pháp,
རླབས་ཆེན་སྡུད་པར་ངེས་པས་དེ་དོན་བསམ །
Since such waves of merit are bound to be gathered contemplate its meaning.
Lợi ích nhất định / sẽ như sóng cả, / vì vậy hãy nên / chuyên chú tư duy.༈ །དེ་ནས་འདི་ཕྱིའི་ལེགས་ཚོགས་ཇི་སྙེད་པའི། །
Then, the root of creating well the auspicious conditions
9. Rồi sẽ thấy ra / gốc rễ duyên lành
རྟེན་འབྲེལ་ལེགས་པར་འགྲིགས་པའི་རྩ་བ་ནི། །
For all the excellences of this and future lives
Cho mọi thiện lành / đời này kiếp sau
ལམ་སྟོན་བཤེས་གཉེན་དམ་པ་འབད་པ་ཡིས། །
Is to rely properly with effort both in thought and action
Nằm ở nỗ lực / mang tâm và hạnh / nương dựa đúng cách
བསམ་དང་སྦྱོར་བས་ཚུལ་བཞིན་བསྟེན་པར་པ་རུ། །
Upon the sublime spiritual mentor who reveals the path.
Nơi đấng đạo sư, / là người chỉ cho / đường tu giác ngộ.མཐོང་ནས་སྲོག་གི་ཕྱིར་ཡང་མི་གཏོང་བར། །
Seeing this we should never forsake him even at the cost of life
Thấy điều này rồi / cho dù mất mạng / cũng không từ bỏ,
བཀའ་བཞིན་སྒྲུབ་པའི་མཆོད་པས་མཉེས་པར་བྱེད། །
And please him with the offering of implementing his words.
Phải gắng làm cho / đạo sư hoan hỉ / bằng cách tu theo / lời của đạo sư.
རྣལ་འབྱོར་ངས་ཀྱང་ཉམས་ལེན་དེ་ལྟར་བགྱིས། །
I, a yogi, have practiced in this manner;
Thầy là hành giả / đã tu như vậy,
ཐར་འདོད་ཁྱོད་ཀྱང་དེ་བཞིན་བསྐྱང་འཚལ་ལོ།
You, who aspire for liberation, too should do likewise.
Con cầu giải thoát / cứ hãy làm theo.༈ །དལ་བའི་རྟེན་འདི་ཡིད་བཞིན་ནོར་ལས་ལྷག །
This life of leisure is even more precious than a wish-granting jewel;
10. Thân người ung dung / quí giá còn hơn / bảo châu như ý
འདི་འདྲ་རྙེད་པ་ད་རེས་ཙམ་ཞིག་ཡིན། །
That I have found such an existence is only this once;
Đến chỉ một lần / cực kỳ khó gặp,
རྙེད་དཀའ་འཇིག་སླ་ནམ་མཁའི་གློག་དང་འདྲ། །
So hard to find yet like a flash of lightning it is easy to vanish;
Lại dễ mất như / tia chớp giữa trời.
ཚུལ་འདི་བསམས་ནས་འཇིག་རྟེན་བྱ་བ་ཀུན། །
Contemplating this situation it’s vital to realize that all mundane pursuits
Thấy rõ kiếp người / chóng vánh như vậy,སྦུན་པ་འཕྱར་བ་བཞིན་དུ་རྟོགས་གྱུར་ནས། །
Are like the empty grain husks floating in the winds
Chuyện đời khác gì / trấu lép loạn bay.
ཉིན་མཚན་ཀུན་ཏུ་སྙིང་བོ་ལེན་པ་དགོས། །
And that we must extract the essence of human existence.
Nên ngày lẫn đêm / phải luôn tận dụng / tinh túy thân này.
རྣལ་འབྱོར་ངས་ཀྱང༌
I, a yogi, have practiced in this manner;
Thầy là hành giả / đã tu như vậy,
ཐར་འདོད་ཁྱེད་ཀྱང༌། །ཚིག་རྐང་འདི་གཉིས་ཕྱིན་ཆད་ཀུན་ལའང་འགྲེ།
You, who aspire for liberation, too should do likewise.
Con cầu giải thoát / cứ hãy làm theo.༈ ཤི་ནས་ངན་འགྲོར་མི་སྐྱེའི་གདིང་མེད་ཅིང༌། །
There is no certainty that after death we may not be born in the lower realms;
11. Chết rồi chắc gì / không rơi ác đạo,
དེ་ཡི་འཇིགས་སྐྱོབ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གསུམ་དུ་ངེས། །
The protection from such terror lies in the Three Jewels alone;
Giúp thoát sợ này / chỉ có Tam Bảo.
དེ་ཕྱིར་སྐྱབས་འགྲོ་ཤིན་ཏུ་བརྟན་པ་དང༌། །
So we must make firm the practice of going for refuge
Vậy tâm qui y / phải giữ cho chắc,
དེ་ཡི་བསླབ་བྱ་ཉམས་པ་མེད་པར་བྱ། །
And ensure that its precepts are never undermined.
Đừng bao giờ để / phá hạnh qui y.དེ་ཡང་དཀར་ནག་ལས་འབྲས་ལེགས་བསམ་ནས། །
This in turn depends on contemplating well the white and black karma
Muốn được như vậy / phải khéo nghĩ về / nghiệp quả thiện ác,
བླང་དོར་ཚུལ་བཞིན་སྒྲུབ་ལ་རག་ལས་སོ། །
And their effects, and on perfect observance of the ethical norms.
Để biết chọn việc / nên bỏ, nên làm.
རྣལ་འབྱོར༴ །ཐར་འདོད༴ །
I, a yogi, have practiced in this manner;
You, who aspire for liberation, too should do likewise.
Thầy là hành giả / đã tu như vậy,
Con cầu giải thoát / cứ hãy làm theo.ལམ་མཆོག་སྒྲུབ་ལ་མཚན་ཉིད་ཚང་བའི་རྟེན། །
Until we’ve obtained the most qualified form to pursue the excellent path
12. Thân người đủ mọi / phẩm tướng cần thiết / để theo thắng đạo,
མ་རྙེད་བར་དུ་ས་ཕྱོད་མི་འོང་བས། ། [དུས་ཚོད་མི་འོང་བས་??]
We will fail to make great strides in our journey,
Nếu như thiếu đi / thì đường giác ngộ / không thể bứt phá.
དེ་ཡི་མ་ཚང་མེད་པའི་རྒྱུད་ལ་བསླབ། །
So we must strive in all the conditions without exception of such a form;
Vậy phải gắng sao / cho có đủ cả.
སྒོ་གསུམ་སྡིག་ལྟུང་དྲི་མ་མས་སྦགས་པ་འདི། །
Thus these three doors of ours so sullied with evil karma and downfalls,
Vì bởi ba cửa / nhuốm đầy cấu nhiễm / ác nghiệp, rơi đọa,ལྷག་པར་ལས་སྒྲིབ་སྦྱོང་བ་གནད་ཆེ་བས། །
Since it is especially essential to purify their karmic defilements,
Khẩn thiết nhất là / tẩy tịnh nghiệp chướng,
རྒྱུན་དུ་སྟོབས་བཞི་ཚང་བ་བརྟེན་པ་གཅེས། །
We must ensure to cherish the constant application all four powers.
Nên bốn sám lực / phải thường trân quí / áp dụng siêng năng.
རྣལ་འབྱོར༴ །ཐར་འདོད༴ ༈ །
I, a yogi, have practiced in this manner; You, who aspire for liberation, too should do likewise.
Thầy là hành giả / đã tu như vậy
Con cầu giải thoát / cứ hãy làm theo.སྡུག་བདེན་ཉེས་དམིགས་བསམ་ལ་མ་འབད་ན། །
If we do not strive in contemplating the defects of the truth of suffering,
13. Tai hại khổ đế / không nỗ lực quán
ཐར་པ་དོན་གཉེར་ཇི་བཞིན་མི་སྐྱེ་ཞིང༌། །
The genuine aspiration for liberation does not arise in us;
Thì tâm cầu thoát / không thật phát sinh.
ཀུན་འབྱུང་འཁོར་བའི་འཇུག་རིམ་མ་བསམ་ན། །
If we do not contemplate the causal process of the origin of suffering,
Nguyên nhân của khổ / luân chuyển thế nào, / nếu không quán chiếu
འཁོར་བའི་རྩ་བ་གཅོད་ཚུལ་མི་ཤེས་པས། །
We will fail to understand how to cut the root of cyclic existence.
Thì gốc luân hồi / không biết cách chặt.སྲིད་ལས་ངེས་འབྱུང་སྐྱོ་ཤས་བརྟེན་པ་དང༌། །
So it’s vital to seek true renunciation of disenchantment with existence
Cần nhất phải biết / chán khổ sinh tử, / khởi tâm cầu thoát,
འཁོར་བར་གང་གིས་བཅིངས་པ་ཤེས་པ་གཅེས། །
And to recognize which factors chain us in the cycle of existence.
Và biết điều gì / trói buộc mình trong / sinh tử luân hồi.
རྣལ་འབྱོར། །ཐར་འདོད།
I, a yogi, have practiced in this manner;
You, who aspire for liberation, too should do likewise.
Thầy là hành giả / đã tu như vậy,
Con cầu giải thoát / cứ hãy làm theo.༈ སེམས་བསྐྱེད་ཐེག་མཆོག་ལམ་གྱི་གཞུང་ཤིང་སྟེ། །
Generating the mind is the central axle of the supreme vehicle path;
14. Phát tâm bồ đề / là cốt lõi của / đường tu Đại thừa.
རླབས་ཆེན་སྤྱོད་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་གཞི་དང་རྟེན། །
It’s the foundation and the support of all expansive deeds;
Nền tảng, chỗ dựa / của khắp muôn trùng / sóng cả thiện hạnh
ཚོགས་གཉིས་ཀུན་ལ་གསེར་འགྱུར་རྩི་ལྟ་བུ། ། །
To all instances of two accumulations it is like the elixir of gold;
Tựa như thuốc tiên / hóa sắc thành vàng, / biến tất cả thành / hai kho phước trí
རབ་འབྱམས་དགེ་ཚོགས་སྡུད་པའི་བསོད་ནམས་གཏེར། །
It’s the treasury of merits containing myriad collections of virtues;
Là cả kho tàng / công đức đồ sộ, / chứa hết vô lượng / thiện đức bồ đề.
དེ་ལྟར་ཤེས་ནས་རྒྱལ་སྲས་དབང་བོ་རྣམས། །
Recognizing these truths the heroic bodhisattvas
Vì biết điều này / nên chư bồ tát / uy dũng tự tại
རིན་ཆེན་སེམས་མཆོག་ཐུགས་དམ་མཐིལ་དུ་འཛིན། །
Uphold the precious supreme mind as the heart of their practice.
Gìn giữ tâm ấy / sâu thẳm bên trong / cốt tủy pháp hành.
རྣལ་འབྱོར། །ཐར་འདོད། །
I, a yogi, have practiced in this manner;
You, who aspire for liberation, too should do likewise.
Thầy là hành giả / đã tu như vậy.
Con cầu giải thoát / cứ hãy làm theo.སྦྱིན་པ་འགྲོ་བའི་རེ་སྐོང་ཡིད་བཞིན་ནོར། །
Giving is the wish-granting jewel that satisfies the wishes of all beings;
15. Thí là ngọc quý / toàn thành ước nguyện / cho khắp chúng sanh;
སེར་སྣའི་མདུད་པ་གཅོད་པའི་མཚོན་ཆ་མཆོག །།
It’s the best weapon to cut the constricting knots of miserliness;
Vũ khí thượng thặng / chặt phăng nút thắt / của lòng keo bẩn;
མ་ཞུམ་སྙིང་སྟོབས་བསྐྱེད་པའི་རྒྱལ་སྲས་སྤྱོད།
It’s an undaunted deed of the bodhisattva giving birth to courage;
Là hạnh bồ tát / sinh nguồn dũng cảm / không hề chán mệt;
སྙན་པའི་གྲགས་པ་ཕྱོགས་བཅུར་སྒྲོགས་པའི་གཞི། །
It’s the basis to proclaim one’s fame throughout all ten directions;
Và là nền tảng / khiến cho danh lành / truyền khắp mười phương.
དེ་ལྟར་ཤེས་ནས་ལུས་དང་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་དགེ། །
Knowing this the learned ones seek the excellent path
Vì biết điều này / nên người có trí / xả hết thân mạng / tài sản công đức,
ཡོངས་སུ་གཏོང་བའི་ལམ་བཟང་མཁས་པས་བསྟེན། །
Of giving away entirely their body, wealth and virtues.
chỉ để nương theo / con đường lành này.
རྣལ་འབྱོར༴ །ཐར་འདོད༴ །
I, a yogi, have practiced in this manner;
You, who aspire for liberation, too should do likewise.
Thầy là hành giả / đã tu như vậy.
Con cầu giải thoát / cứ hãy làm theo.ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་ཉེས་སྤྱོད་དྲི་མ་འཁྱུད་པའི་ཆུ། །
Morality is the water that washes off the stains of ill deeds;
16. Giới là nước trong / giặt sạch tất cả / vết nhơ ác nghiệp;
ཉོན་མོངས་ཚ་གདུང་སེལ་བའི་ཟླ་བའི་འོད། །
It’s the cooling moonlight dispelling the burning agony of afflictions;
Là ánh trăng thanh / xoa dịu nỗi đau / rát bỏng phiền não;
སྐྱེས་དགུའི་དབུས་ན་ལྷུན་པོ་ལྟ་བུར་བརྗིད། །
In the midst of people it is most majestic like the Mt Meru;
Đứng giữa phàm phu, / thân thể rạng ngời / như núi Tu di,
སྟོབས་ཀྱིས་བསྡིགས་པ་མེད་པར་འགྲོ་ཀུན་འདུད། །
It draws together all beings without any display of force;
Không cần thị uy / nhiếp phục khắp cả.
དེ་ལྟར་ཤེས་ནས་ཡང་དག་བླངས་པའི་ཁྲིམས། །
Knowing this the sublime ones guard as if they would their eyes,
Vì biết điều này / nên chư giác giả,
དམ་པ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་མིག་བཞིན་བསྲུང་བར་མཛོད། །
The perfect disciplines which they have chosen to adopt.
Giữ giới đã thọ / quí như đôi mắt.
རྣལ་འབྱོར༴ །ཐར་འདོད༴ །
I, a yogi, have practiced in this manner;
You, who aspire for liberation, too should do likewise.
Thầy là hành giả / đã tu như vậy.

Forbearance is the supreme ornament for those who have power;
17. Nhẫn là trang sức / quý giá nhất cho / người có quyền năng;
ཉོན་མོངས་གདུང་བའི་དཀའ་ཐུབ་ཀུན་གྱི་ཕུལ། །
It’s the greatest fortitude against the agonies of afflictions;
Là sức chịu đựng / tuyệt bậc dành cho / bức bách phiền não;
ཞེ་སྡང་ལག་འགྲོའི་དགྲ་ལ་ནམ་མཁའ་ལྡིང༌། །
Against its enemy the snake of hate it is a garuda cruising in the sky;
Là kim sí điểu / bay vút giữa trời, / làm khắc tinh của / rắn thù sân hận;
ཚིག་རྩུབ་མཚོན་ལ་སྲ་བའི་གོ་ཆ་ཡིན། །
Against the weapon of harsh words it’s the strongest armor;
Là lớp giáp bào / kiên cố ngăn chận / vũ khí ác ngữ.དེ་ལྟར་ཤེས་ནས་བཟོད་མཆོག་གོ་ཆ་ལ། །
Knowing this we should habituate ourselves with
Biết vậy cho nên / giáp bào kham nhẫn,
རྣམ་པ་སྣ་ཚོགས་ཚུལ་གྱིས་བསྒོམས་པར་མཛད། །
The armor of excellent forbearance by all possible means.
Bằng đủ mọi cách / phải tập làm quen.
རྣལ་འབྱོར༴ །ཐར་འདོད༴ །
I, a yogi, have practice in this manner;
You, who aspire for liberation, too should do likewise.
Thầy là hành giả / đã tu như vậy.
Con cầu giải thoát / cứ hãy làm theo.མི་ལྡོག་བརྟན་པའི་བརྩོན་འགྲུས་གོ་བགོས་ན། །
If the armor of unflinching perseverance is worn,
18. Khoát lớp giáp bào / tinh tấn bất thoái
ལུང་རྟོགས་ཡོན་ཏན་ཡར་ངོའི་ཟླ་བཞིན་འཕེལ། །
Knowledge of scripture and realization increases like waxing moon;
Thì học và chứng / tăng trưởng nhanh như / trăng đến độ rằm,
སྤྱོད་ལམ་ཐམས་ཅད་དོན་དང་ལྡན་པར་འགྱུར། །
All conducts become fused with good purpose;
Việc làm nào cũng / tràn đầy ý nghĩa,
གང་བརྩམས་ལས་ཀྱི་མཐའ་རྣམས་ཡིད་བཞིན་འགྲུབ། །
And whatever initiatives we may begin succeeds as hoped for;
Và đều mang đến / kết quả mong cầu.
དེ་ལྟར་ཤེས་ནས་ལེ་ལོ་ཀུན་སེལ་བའི། །
Knowing this the bodhisattvas apply great waves of effort,
Vì biết như vậy / nên chư bồ tát
རླབས་ཆེན་བརྩོན་འགྲུས་རྒྱལ་སྲས་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་བརྩམས། །
Which help to dispel all forms of laziness.
Cuộn sóng tinh tấn / quét sạch hết thảy / mọi kiểu biếng lười.
རྣལ་འབྱོར༴ །ཐར་འདོད༴ །
I, a yogi, have practiced in this manner;
You, who aspire for liberation, too should do likewise.
Thầy là hành giả / đã tu như vậy.
Con cầu giải thoát / cứ hãy làm theo.བསམ་གཏན་སེམས་ལ་དབང་སྒྱུར་རྒྱལ་བོ་སྟེ། །
Concentration is the king that reigns over the mind;
19. Định là đại vương / ngự trị tâm thức.
བཞག་ན་གཡོ་མེད་རི་ཡི་དབང་བོ་བཞིན། །
When left it is as unwavering as the king of mountains;
Để yên, bất động / như núi Tu Di
བཏང་ན་དགེ་བའི་དམིགས་པ་ཀུན་ལ་འཇུག །
When set forth it engages with all objects of virtue;
Mở ra, thu nhiếp / toàn bộ thiện pháp,
ལུས་སེམས་ལས་སུ་རུང་བའི་བདེ་ཆེན་འདྲེན། །
It induces the great bliss of a serviceable body and mind;
Cho hỉ lạc nhờ / nhu nhuyễn thân tâm.
དེ་ལྟར་ཤེས་ནས་རྣལ་འབྱོར་དབང་བོ་རྣམས། །
Knowing this the great accomplished yogis
Vì biết vậy nên / hành giả tự tại,
རྣམ་གཡེང་དགྲ་འཇོམས་ཏིང་འཛིན་རྒྱུན་ཏུ་བསྟེན། །
Constantly apply meditations destroying the enemy of distraction.
Luôn nương pháp định / diệt thù tán tâm.
རྣལ་འབྱོར༴ །ཐར་འདོད༴ །
I, a yogi, have practiced in this manner;
You, who aspire for liberation, too should do likewise.
Thầy là hành giả / đã tu như vậy.
Con cầu giải thoát / cứ hãy làm theo.ཤེས་རབ་ཟབ་མོའི་དེ་ཉིད་བལྟ་བའི་མིག །
Wisdom is the eye that sees the profound suchness;
20. Tuệ là đôi mắt / thâm chứng tánh Như;
སྲིད་པའི་རྩ་བ་དྲུང་ནས་འབྱིན་པའི་ལམ། །
It’s the path eradicating cyclic existence from its very root;
Là con đường bứng / sạch gốc luân hồi;
གསུང་རབ་ཀུན་ལས་བསྔགས་པའི་ཡོན་ཏན་གཏེར། །
It’s a treasury of higher qualities that are praised in all scriptures;
Là kho tánh đức / kinh luận tán thán;
གཏི་མུག་མུན་སེལ་སྒྲོན་མེའི་མཆོག་ཏུ་གྲགས། །
It’s known as the supreme lamp dispelling the darkness of delusion;
Và nổi danh là / ngọn đèn vô thượng / xua bóng vô minh.
དེ་ལྟར་ཤེས་ནས་ཐར་འདོད་མཁས་པ་ཡིས། །
Knowing this the learned ones who aspire for liberation
Vì biết như vậy / nên người có trí / tìm cầu giải thoát
ལམ་དེ་འབད་པ་དུ་མས་བསྐྱེད་པར་མཛད། །
Endeavor with multiple efforts to cultivate this path.
Nỗ lực đủ cách / tu theo đường này.
རྣལ་འབྱོར༴ །ཐར་འདོད༴ །
I, a yogi, have practiced in this manner;
You, who aspire for liberation, too should do likewise.
Thầy là hành giả / đã tu như vậy.
Con cầu giải thoát / cứ hãy làm theoརྩེ་གཅིག་བསམ་གཏན་ཙམ་ལས་འཁོར་བ་ཡི། །
In a mere one-pointed concentration I fail to see
Nếu chỉ dựa vào / mỗi định-nhất-tâm / thì không thấy được
རྩ་བ་གཅོད་པའི་ནུས་པ་མ་མཐོང་ཞིང༌། །
The potency to cut the root of cyclic existence;
Khả năng chặt đứt / gốc rễ luân hồi.
ཞི་གནས་ལམ་དང་བྲལ་བའི་ཤེས་རབ་ཀྱིས། །
Yet with wisdom devoid of the path of tranquil abiding,
Nếu chỉ có tuệ / thiếu đi tịnh chỉ
ཇི་ཙམ་དཔྱད་ཀྱང་ཉོན་མོངས་མི་ལྡོག་པས། །
No matter how much one may probe, the afflictions will not be overcome.
Thì dù quán chiếu / truy tìm đến đâu / cũng không thể nào / dứt được phiền não.
ཡིན་ལུགས་ཕུག་ཐག་ཆོད་པའི་ཤེས་རབ་དེ། །
So this wisdom decisively penetrating the true mode of being,
Vì vậy kẻ trí / lấy tuệ thâm nhập / vào chân thực tại
གཡོ་མེད་ཞི་གནས་རྟ་ལ་བསྐྱོན་ནས་ནི། །
The learned ones saddle it astride the horse of unwavering calm abiding;
Cưỡi trên lưng ngựa / tịnh chỉ diệu trạm;
མཐའ་བྲལ་དབུ་མའི་རིག་པའི་མཚོན་རྣོན་གྱིས། །
And with the sharp weapon of reasoning of the Middle Way free of extremes,
Dùng vũ khí bén / luận lý Trung đạo / không vướng biên kiến
མཐར་འཛིན་དམིགས་གཏད་ཐམས་ཅད་འཇིག་བྱེད་པའི། །
They dismantle all locus of objectification of the mind grasping at extremes;
Phá tan hết thảy / khái niệm phân biệt / chấp thường chấp đoạn.
ཚུལ་བཞིན་དཔྱོད་པའི་ཡངས་པའི་ཤེས་རབ་ཀྱིས། །
With such expansive wisdom that probes with precision,
Dùng tuệ rộng lớn / quán chiếu chính xác
དེ་ཉིད་རྟོགས་པའི་བློ་གྲོས་རྒྱས་པར་མཛད། །
The learned ones enhance the wisdom realizing the suchness.
Để làm khai mở / trí chứng tánh Như.
རྣལ་འབྱོར༴ །ཐར་འདོད༴ །
I, a yogi, have practiced in this manner;
You, who aspire for liberation, too should do likewise.
Thầy là hành giả / đã tu như vậy.
Con cầu giải thoát / cứ hãy làm theo.རྩེ་གཅིག་བསྒོམས་པས་ཏིང་འཛིན་འགྲུབ་པ་ནི། །
What need is there say that through one-pointed cultivation
22. Nhờ thiền nhất tâm / mà đạt tam muội,
སྨོས་པར་ཅི་འཚལ་ཚུལ་བཞིན་དཔྱོད་པ་ཡི། །
Absorption is realized? Through discriminative awareness
Chẳng gì đáng nói. / Dùng quán sát trí
སོ་སོར་རྟོག་པ་ཡིས་ཀྱང་ཡིན་ལུགས་ལ། །
Probing with precision as well one can abide unwavering
Truy xét tầm tư, / mà vẫn yên lắng,
གཡོ་མེད་ཤིན་ཏུ་བརྟན་པར་གནས་པ་ཡི། །
And utterly stable upon the true mode of being.
Bất động vững vàng / nơi chân thực tại,
ཏིང་འཛིན་བསྐྱེད་པར་མཐོང་ནས་ཞི་ལྷག་གཉིས། །
Wondrous are those who see this
Thấy rồi nỗ lực / hợp nhất chỉ quán,
ཟུང་འབྲེལ་སྒྲུབ་ལ་བརྩོན་རྣམས་ཡ་མཚན་ནོ། །
And strive for the union of abiding and insight.
Đây mới chính thật / là điều nhiệm mầu.
རྣལ་འབྱོར། །ཐར་འདོད། །
I, a yogi, have practiced in this manner;
You, who aspire for liberation, too should do likewise.
Thầy là hành giả / đã tu như vậy.
Con cầu giải thoát / cứ hãy làm theo.མཉམ་བཞག་ནམ་མཁའ་ལྟ་བུའི་སྟོང་ཉིད་དང༌། །
The space-like emptiness of meditative equipoise,
23. Khi vào trong định, Không – như không gian;
རྗེས་ཐོབ་སྒྱུ་མ་ལྟ་བུའི་སྟོང་བ་གཉིས། །
And the illusion-like emptiness of the subsequent realizations,
Khi xuất trở ra, Không – như huyễn cảnh;
བསྒོམས་ནས་ཐབས་ཤེས་ཟུང་དུ་འབྲེལ་བ་ཡིས། །
Praised are those who cultivate them and bind together
Tán dương những ai / nhờ tu như vậy / hợp nhất phương tiện / cùng với trí tuệ
རྒྱལ་སྲས་སྤྱོད་པའི་ཕ་རོལ་འགྲོ་བ་བསྔགས། །
The method and wisdom and travel beyond the bodhisattva deeds.
Và rồi siêu việt / các hạnh bồ tát.
དེ་ལྟར་རྟོགས་ནས་ཕྱོགས་རེའི་ལམ་གྱིས་ནི། །
It’s the way of the fortunate ones
Để chứng điều này / nên bậc thiện duyên
ཚིམ་པ་མེད་པ་སྐལ་བཟང་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ལུགས། །
To realize this and not to be content with partial paths;
Không đành lòng với / đường tu riêng lẻ.
རྣལ་འབྱོར༴ །ཐར་འདོད༴
I, a yogi, have practiced in this manner; You, who aspire for liberation, too should do likewise.
Thầy là hành giả / đã tu như vậy.
Con cầu giải thoát / cứ hãy làm theo.༈ །དེ་ལྟར་རྒྱུ་དང་འབྲས་བུའི་ཐེག་ཆེན་གྱི། །
Thus having cultivated as they are the common paths
24. Như thế chính là / đường tu phổ thông, / thiết yếu cho hai / thắng đạo đại thừa.
ལམ་མཆོག་གཉིས་ཀར་དགོས་པའི་ཐུན་མོང་ལམ། །
Essential for the two supreme paths of causal and resultant great vehicles,
là cỗ xe nhân / và cỗ xe quả.
ཇི་བཞིན་དཔྱད་ནས་མཁས་པའི་དེད་དཔོན་གྱི། །
I have entered the great ocean of tantras
Tu rồi hãy tìm / nương sự che chở / của bậc thuyền trưởng / trí tuệ tài ba
མགོན་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་རྒྱུད་སྡེ་རྒྱ་མཚོ་ཆེར། །
By relying upon the leadership of the learned navigators;
Để mà bước vào / biển cả mật pháp.
ཞུགས་ནས་ཡོངས་རྫོགས་མན་ངག་བརྟེན་པ་དེས། །
And through application of the quintessential instructions,
Rồi nhờ dựa vào / lời giảng toàn hảo
དལ་འབྱོར་ཐོབ་པ་དོན་དང་ལྡན་པར་བྱས། །
I have made meaningful human existence that I have obtained.
Sẽ không phí uổng / thân người có đây.
རྣལ་འབྱོར༴ ། ཐར་འདོད༴
I, a yogi, have practiced in this manner;
You, who aspire for liberation, too should do likewise.
Thầy là hành giả / đã tu như vậy
Con cầu giải thoát / cứ hãy làm theo.༈ ། རང་གི་ཡིད་ལ་གོམས་པར་བྱ་ཕྱིར་དང༌། །
In order to make familiar to my own mind,
25. Vì để huân tập / tâm của chính mình,
སྐལ་བཟང་གཞན་ལའང་ཕན་པར་བྱ་བའི་ཕྱིར། །
And to help benefit fortunate others as well,
Cũng để làm lợi / cho hàng thiện duyên,
རྒྱལ་བ་དགྱེས་པའི་ཡོངས་སུ་རྫོགས་པའི་ལམ། །
I’ve explained here in words easy to understand
Thầy đã giải thích / bằng lời dễ hiểu
གོ་སླའི་ངག་གིས་བཤད་པའི་དགེ་བ་དེས། །
In its entirety the path that pleases the conquerors.
Trọn vẹn đường tu / khiến Phật đẹp lòng.འགྲོ་བ་ཀུན་ཀྱང་རྣམ་དག་ལམ་བཟང་དང༌། །
“Through this virtue may all beings be never divorced
25.Nương công đức này / nguyện cho chúng sinh
འབྲལ་མེད་གྱུར་ཅིག་ཅེས་ནི་སྨོན་ལམ་འདེབས། །
From the perfectly pure excellent path” thus I pray;
Không bao giờ lìa / chánh đạo tối thượng.
རྣལ་འབྱོར་ངས་ཀྱང་སྨོན་ལམ་དེ་ལྟར་བཏབ། །
I, a yogi, have made aspirations in this manner;
Thầy là hành giả / đã nguyện như vậy.
ཐར་འདོད་ཁྱེད་ཀྱང་དེ་བཞིན་འདེབས་འཚལ་ལོ།
You, who aspire for liberation, too should pray likewise.

ཞེས་བྱང་ཆུབ་ལམ་གྱི་རིམ་པའི་ཉམས་ལེན་གྱི་རྣམ་བཞག་མདོར་བསྡུས་ཏེ་བརྗོད་པ་རང་བྱས་པ་འདི་ནི་མང་དུ་ཐོས་པའི་དགེ་སློང་སྤོང་བ་པ་བློ་བཟང་གྲགས་པའི་དཔལ་གྱིས འབྲོག་རི་བོ་དགེ་ལྡན་རྣམ་པར་རྒྱལ་བའི་གླིང་དུ་སྦྱར་བའོ། །
This brief presentation of the practices of the stages of the path to enlightenment written in the format of a memorandum was composed by the well-read monk, the renunciate Lobsang Drakpa at the great mountain retreat of Geden Nampar Gyalwai Ling.
